Winter Weather May Impact Morning Commute

Freezing rain moves into the area after midnight.

Despite sunny skies and temperatures in the 40s Wednesday, New England will be brought back to reality early Thursday morning as wintry precipitation moves into the area, according to the National Weather Service.

Foxborough is expected to see predominantly rain, with little or no snow accumulation. Freezing rain will begin mainly after 4am, making for a slippery morning commute. Rain is expected for the remainder of the day with a high near 46. Some areas of the state could see more than an inch of rain, according to the National Weather Service. 

Parts of western Mass. brace for snow, as forecasters predict some areas will see between 1 and 6 inches of snow beginning around midnight.

With a storm expected to bring rain, sleet, and snow to New England tonight into tomorrow, especially impacting the Thursday morning commute, the Massachusetts State Police are reminding motorists to drive slowly and take additional precautions.
