Son of Former Foxborough Selectman Lived Across the Street From Marathon Bombing Suspects

Former Foxborough selectman Larry Harrington's 23-year-old son, Adam, lives in a Somerville apartment complex across the street from the apartment of the two Boston Marathon bombing suspects.

Foxborough High School alum (Class of 2007) Adam Harrington was unaware the two suspects in last week’s attacks on the Boston Marathon lived across the street from him until he saw three Cambridge police officers and about 15 FBI agents on his street Friday morning, according to The Sun Chronicle.

Harrington, 23, the son of former Foxborough selectman Larry Harrington, has lived in a Somerville apartment complex on Norfolk Street for just over a year now. The complex is across the street from the Cambridge apartment of Tamerlan and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, both wanted in the Boston Marathon bombings case.

. His younger brother, Dzhokhar, 19, escaped the scene, which prompted a massive manhunt in the early morning hours of Friday throughout the Greater Boston area that ended after 8 p.m. with the capture of Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, found hiding in a Watertown resident’s boat, near Franklin and Walnut streets.

"It is definitely a shock,” Harrington told the Chronicle. “It hit close to home in that respect."

Police found bomb-making materials during a search of the Tsarnaev’s Cambridge apartment, which particularly alarming to Harrington.

“Had they screwed up making something part of the street could have been blown to hell," Harrington told the Chronicle.

Harrington was able to return to his Somerville apartment around midnight Saturday following Friday night’s capture of Dzhokhar Tsarnaev.
