Snow Made for 'Terrible' Morning Commute Thursday in Foxborough Area

Many Foxborough Patch readers expressed frustration with Thursday morning's commute throughout the area.

Snow covered roads Thursday made for an unpleasant commute for many Foxborough Patch readers, who collective described road conditions as "terrible."

We took to Facebook to ask how the morning commute was for our readers throughout the area and this is what they had to say:

Ramona Kingsley said: "Foxborough roads stink!!! ... drove to Norton this morning and roads in Mansfield and Norton were all clear!!!"

Raquel L. Auriemma said: "At 6:30 a.m., very slow going from Foxborough into Sharon. I saw plows/sand trucks in Sharon, but even those roads weren't in great shape."

Pat Larkin: "The roads were pretty bad early on, but as the trucks got out there they got better. We (bus drivers) just go slow and don't worry about being late ... safety first! I just wish people would put their kids on the buses instead of driving them. High school traffic was backed up to the Common! It's hard enough without having to deal with that! And statistically, it is safer for them to ride the bus than drive or get driven in a car."

Jen DeAngelis said: "Terrible! So tired of the town not doing their job and clearing the roads. Always an excuse and never just results. What do our taxes actually pay them to do?"

Jennifer Morrissey said: "Roads were terrible. I don't even think they were plowed in East Foxborough and 95N was a joke. By the time I got to Quincy for my job ... it's all just wet snow/rain here ... No accumulation on roads. Much different than Foxborough."

Jen Prescott said: "Horrible!!!!!! Didn't see a plow on the east side of town until AFTER the school bus picked up my kids!!!!!"

Tara Lynne said: "Drive from Raynham to Foxborough was horrible! I was in my car for almost an hour and a half."

Lauren Tingos Schmall said: "Took a loooong time!!! Got side-swiped and he took off."

Ashley-Nicole Celaya said: "Ugh. From Foxborough to West Roxbury almost an hour."

Michelle St Clair said: "I don't understand the delays in plowing, or at least treating the roads early in the morning before school starts in prep for the storm. The last time this happened, the explanation was that there wasn't anything to plow yet early in the morning and then buckets of snow hit when school buses hit the roads. Wouldn't treating the roads and being on the roads working and ready with such a forecast in place be enough to be prepared rather than wait until it's a mess?"

Melissa Campbell said: "15 minutes to get from the rotary to the high school (since I am not letting my my newly licensed driver drive in this). Then, there was still a line of traffic coming into the high school from both directions and trying to get out of the school. I am the first one trying to get out, and the crossing guard, speaks into her radio and then proceeds to leave. And leave all of traffic to fend for itself. 7:39 a.m. must be the end of her shift."
