Foxborough Developer Sued for Allegedly Taking Advantage of Sharon Homebuyers

A Foxborough real estate developer has been sued for allegedly taking more than $200,000 in advance payments for new, single-family homes in Sharon that were never provided, and refusing to return the deposits, Attorney General Martha Coakley announced in a press release Monday.

The AG’s Office has obtained a temporary restraining order in Suffolk Superior Court against Michael Intoccia of Foxborough, and his companies including Bella Estates Realty Trust, MTI Realty, and Intoccia Builders Corporation, prohibiting them from accepting future deposits for new homes unless the deposits are put into escrow, Coakley said.

The lawsuit seeks more than $200,000 in restitution for five homebuyers who paid for homes in the Bella Estates development in Sharon. The AG’s Office is also seeking statutory penalties and a further injunction preventing the defendants from taking unsecured deposits.

According to the complaint, Intoccia operates a development business in Norfolk County through a network of companies that were involved in the planning, marketing, and construction of the Bella Estates development that was to consist of 29 single-family house lots. The defendants allegedly solicited buyers and took deposits of up to $55,300 per residence.

Mansfield Branch of Sharon Credit Union Robbed Thursday Afternoon

Two men, one of them using a semi-automatic handgun, were able to escape Sharon Credit Union with an undisclosed amount of money after holding up the bank a little before 1:30 pm.

Walking into the bank wearing black hoodies, sunglasses, hats, and clothing to conceal the bottom their faces, the two men took over the bank and demanded money while showing the gun to the tellers.

The Volvo used as a getaway car was found abandoned on South Walnut Street.
The two men are described as 6'0" and 5'10"  and both heavy set.

Anyone with information pertaining to the robbery is asked to call Mansfield police at 508-261-7300.

Stoughton Woman Gives Birth at Randolph Fire Station

A Stoughton woman in labor ended up giving birth to a baby girl at Randolph's main fire station Wednesday morning, the Patriot Ledger reports.

The woman's husband was driving her to South Shore Hospital in Weymouth, but the new mom's labor pains were so severe that the husband didn't think they would make it to the hospital before the baby was born so the couple stopped at the Randolph fire station, Randolph Firefighter Steve Glassman told the Ledger.

Oliver Ames Girls’ Soccer Standout Kendall Andrew to Play at Providence College

Oliver Ames girls' soccer standout Kendall Andrew is leaving behind plenty of great memories.

Luckily, as she takes the next step in her soccer career, she'll be a short drive away.

"Providence College was a perfect match academically and athletically," she said Wednesday. "It was close to home. I couldn’t see myself going too far from my family."

Andrew signed a Letter of Intent to play soccer at Providence College Wednesday afternoon. She was surrounded by family (her mother and father Ann and Shawn and brother and sister Tim and Meghan), Oliver Ames coach Britt Sellmayer and Athletic Director Bill Matthews.

Several Candidates Come Forward for Norton Town Office Election

Several people have already begun their road to election day by obtaining nomination papers.

Incumbents Robert Kimball Jr. and Robert Salvo Sr. are looking to be reelected while George Gillis is also vying for a seat. School Committee chairperson Andrew Mackie is seeking reelection while Beth McManus’ seat is being eyed by Valerie Desmond. Ralph Stefanelli and Robert Salvo Sr. are both trying to keep their Housing Authority positions. While three seats are available on the Planning Board, so far only incumbent David Miller has taken out papers. No one has taken nomination papers for the Water/Sewer Commission or Board of Assessors, which both have one seat apiece.

Crews Fix Water Main Break on Pecunit Street

Canton Water Department crews responded to a 12-inch water main break on Pecunit Street just in front of the Lawrence M. Walsh playground next to the Peter Hansen Elementary School on Tuesday, Feb. 5. Students at the Hansen School was let out at 11 a.m. due to the break. Water could be seen bubbling up into the street, but the Canton Water Department repaired the break in a timely manner; the water was turned back on at noon.
