Scenes from Monday's Memorial Day parade and ceremony in Foxborough.

The Foxoborough community came together Monday morning to remember our country's fallen heroes and thank our veterans and current military servicemen and women with the town's annual Memorial Day parade and ceremony on the Common.

Foxborough veterans, police, fire, scouts and high school band gathered outside the American Legion Hall on Mechanic Street and paraded around town before circling the Common for a ceremony to solemnly remember those who paid the ultimate sacrifice for our way of life.

Following the morning parade, the Foxborough High School marching band began the ceremony on the Common with a performance of the National Anthem.

The program also featured a performance of the patriotic Lee Greenwood song, "Proud to Be an American," placing of wreaths at the town's five war memorials and a 21-gun salute followed by a playing of "Taps."

Names of the town's 38 veterans who died since last Memorial Day was also read aloud to honor each of them for their service and sacrifice to our country.

As many Memorial Days before this one, Foxborough solemnly came together Monday to keep the true meaning of the day at the forefront of its services by honoring the "some who gave all."

And to say "thank you" to the many who "gave some."
