Patriots Alfonzo Dennard Arrested and Charged with DUI in Nebraska

The football player was arrested and charged on the suspicion of a DUI.

Another member of the New England Patriots appears to be in trouble with the law.

Cornerback Alfonzo Dennard was arrested Thursday morning on the suspicion of a DUI while in Lincoln, Nebraska according to WHDH.

Allegedly, Dennard was pulled over at around 2 a.m. when police observed his vehicle straddling a lane. After being pulled over, Dennard refused to take a blood-alcohol-content test.

This isn't the first time Dennard has dealt with legal issues. Three months ago, the football player was sentenced to 30 days in jail and two years of probation after assaulting a police officer. A judge has allowed the jail time to be served after the 2013 NFL season. This latest arrest could be a violation of his probation.

The NFL could also discipline him as a repeat violator of the personal-conduct policy although the police assault happend before he was drafted by the Patriots.

In a satement, Vice President of Media Relations for the Patriots Stacey James said, "The New England Patriots are extremely disappointed to learn of Alfonzo Dennard’s arrest. We take this matter very seriously and are working to get more information on the incident."
