Patriot Nation Mourns Myra Kraft's Death

Patriot fans and community members react to the passing of Myra Kraft.

The passing of has saddened the sports world from the people who cover it to the fans who watch.

Throughout the region, fans, reporters, and athletes have taken a moment to remember the women who was known for her welcoming soul and her philanthropy throughout New England.

Needham Patch contributor and 14-year Patriot season ticker holder Matt Noonan said, "It is a sad day for the entire Kraft and Hiatt family, as well as the entire New England Patriots organization. Myra Kraft was a significant component to the Patriots success, a caring woman, loving wife, as well as a tremendous person outside of Gillette Stadium. She'll certainly be missed."

Within the community, Mrs. Kraft will be remembered for her tireless charity efforts though the New England Patriots Charitable Foundation.

Mansfield resident and Patriots Season Ticket holder Brian Maloney noted that he "always felt that Myra was as much a part of the New England Patriots as any other member for the Kraft family. Having been a season ticket holder for almost twenty years, I noticed that when talking about the front office, the team always said "The Kraft Family," as opposed to just Robert or Jonathan."

Maloney went onto note that "while Robert handled the football side of the organization, Myra was the driving force behind all the good deeds that the team was doing off of the field. She was the first lady of New England, and will be missed by both the organization and the community."

On Twitter, Patriots and Revolution players and personnel past and current have expressed their condolences on Myra Kraft’s passing.

Former Revolution player Taylor Twellman said, “Today is a very sad sad day. Myra Kraft in '02 when I came to Boston opened her arms to me and made me feel like her son. And will forever remember what Myra/Robert meant to me and my parents when I signed for The Revolution. My second set of parents were in Boston!"

Patriots cornerback Darius Butler noted that his "condolences and prayers go out to the Kraft family during this tough time.”

Former Patriot wide receiver Donté Stallworth spoke with the radio station, '98.5 The Sports Hub,' where he commented on Mrs. Kraft's passing.

“She was an awesome lady. She will definitely be missed,” said Stallworth.

Mrs. Kraft is survived by her husband Robert Kraft and sons Jonathan, Josh, Daniel, and David.
