National Grid Reports 1,664 Foxborough Customers Without Power Tuesday Morning

Foxborough town officials are holding an emergency meeting to provide updates on the power outage situation caused by Hurricane Sandy.

As of 8:53 a.m. Tuesday, National Grid is reporting on its power outage map that 1,664 customers in Foxborough are without power.

That number has been reduced from Monday night, where nearly 75 percent of the town was without power, forcing Foxborough Public Schools to remained closed for a second straight day.

Town Manager Kevin Paicos said he received "extremely frustrating" news from National Grid Monday night when the utility company said the town should prepare for multi-day outages.

Foxborough officials are meeting again at Town Hall Tuesday morning to discuss the town's status and hear an update from National Grid. Foxborough Patch Local Editor Jeremie Smith will be at the meeting and providing the latest information as it becomes available.

Across the state, 212,682 National Grid remain without power Tuesday morning.

TELL US: Are you still without power Tuesday morning? If so, where is the power outage? Let us know in the comments section.

We are still out over by the Reservoir but hopeful we will get it back at some point today. Also hoping that Halloween is not cancelled for the 2nd year in a row.

National has to many customers. They can not answer any of your questions. Nor can they keep the power in in Foxboro. Our last storm, the president of National grid was vacationing, while we sat in the dark. Does anyone find a problem with this. Three strikes and your out. Time to replace them.

No power on lakeview. No idea what he cause is since I do not see any trees or damage whatsoever. I lived in FL for 30 years and went through many hurricanes. We almost never lost power and if we did it was for a few hours (excluding the big ones like Andrew of course). Just don't understand why it is so bad in foxborough.

Payson road still out. Also is Russell disposal making another trash run like last year?
John Franchitto October 30, 2012 at 03:16 PM
We are still without power as of 11am on Hill St. It is extremely frustrating to think every time we go through a storm we need to prepare for multi-day outage. And without any concern for the customer. "I sorry" won't cut it any more.

No power on Payson Road Tuesday morning ...so much for buying food before a storm...just to watch it spoil...I thought it was going to be different this time...What a joke!
