McGinty Family Fun Day to be Held Sept. 10

McGinty Family Fun Day will be held on Saturday, September 10th from 11:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. on the Foxboro Common.

Nearly 10 years ago, life in the U.S. was permanently altered. Sunday, the country marks the 10th anniversary of the September 11 attacks. The September 11 attacks—four coordinated suicide attacks by al-Qaeda on American soil—took nearly 3,000 lives in total and forever changed our lives. Among those was Foxboro resident Michael McGinty, who died in the World Trade Center and left behind his wife, Cindy, and sons Daniel and David.

Cindy McGinty, who now resides in Connecticut, and her son David - her other son Daniel is away at college - will be back in Foxborough to observe the tenth anniversary of this national tragedy and for the 2011 McGinty Family Fun Day. Proceeds raised from the McGinty Family Fun Day entry--$5 per person, $20 family maximum—will go to the McGinty Scholarship Foundation which is named in loving memory of former Foxboro resident Michael McGinty.  The foundation awards two scholarships each year to college bound Foxboro residents to honor McGinty who was killed at the World Trade Center in the September 11, 2001 attacks at the age of 42.

McGinty Family Fun Day will be held on Saturday, September 10th from 11:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. on the Foxboro Common.
