Harsh Winter Prompts Road Repair Discussion

Foxborough looks to create road repair program.

Foxborough town officials are not committing just yet to putting more money towards fixing up the deteriorating roads around town.

Bob Swanson, P.E./Highway Superintendent, was on hand at the March 29 Selectmen meeting to discuss the general issue of “road repair.”

A harsh winter this season has led to a significant decline in road conditions.

“This winter has been damaging to the roads and the current budget is just not cutting it,” said Paicos.

The board discussed with Swanson the idea of a implementing a preventative maintenance program which would require a significantly higher budget and extra staff.

A road management is planned to be submitted for the summer/fall.
