Gas Leak Forces Evacuation at Patriot Place in Foxborough

Over 300 people evacuated Patriot Place in Foxborough after a gas leak early Saturday afternoon.

Harvest Festival at Patriot Place in Foxborough was interrupted for a short amount of time early Saturday afternoon, when over 300 people were evacuated from three retail buildings and the Renaissance Hotel & Spa at Patriot Place.

At around noon Saturday, AlertNewEngland reported that a high-pressure gas line ruptured accidentally.

Foxborough Fire crews departed shortly before noon, after it was reported that an odor of gas was coming from Toby Keith’s I Love This Bar and Grill.

According to the Boston Globe, the Foxborough Fire Department found that a cart had been pushed down a ramp and accidentally severed a high-pressure gas line outside of Toby Keith's I Love This Bar & Grill.

Columbia Gas arrived on the scene shortly after and shut off the gas.

After the scene was deemed safe, patrons were allowed back inside the establishments; approximately 45 minutes after the odor was reported.

A gas leak has not been experienced at Patriot Place since its construction in 2007, the Boston Globe reports.
