Foxborough's Annual Household Hazardous Waste Day

Residents of Foxborough are invited to attend this free event.

Foxborough's annual Household Hazardous Waste Day is Saturday, May 7 from 9 a.m to noon at the highway garage on Elm Street. Residents of Foxborough only are invited to bring cleaners, rechargeable batteries and unwanted pesticides among other items.

Residents will be able to get rid of up to five gallons or 45 pounds of hazardous material for free during this event.

The following items will be accepted:

  • Dry-cleaning fluids
  •  arts and crafts supplies
  • furniture polish
  • oven and floor cleaners
  •  metal polish
  •  fluorescent light bulbs
  • lighter fluids
  • engine degreaser
  • brake fluid
  • gasoline
  • antifreeze
  • automobile batteries
  • waste fuels
  • kerosene
  •  transmission fluid
  • car wax
  • driveway sealer
  •  cesspool cleaners
  •  pool chemicals
  • pesticides
  •  insect sprays
  • stains
  • varnishes and paint strippers
  • oil-based paint
  •  wood preservatives
  • solvents
  • adhesives.

The following items will not be accepted:

  • Explosive materials
  • ammunition
  • propane tanks
  • smoke detectors
  • fire extinguishers
  • prescription drugs/syringes
  • medical waste
  • commercial or industrial waste
  • asbestos products
