Foxborough Will Run, Walk to Help Fight Diabetes this Weekend

The 11th Annual Foxboro Against Diabetes 5K Run/Walk in memory of Shannon E. Hurley is Saturday, June 4.

Foxborough will run/walk to fight diabetes Saturday, June 4.

The 11th Annual Foxboro Against Diabetes 5K Run/Walk in memory of Shannon E. Hurley will begin at 10 a.m. on Neponset Street. Event proceeds will benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation in Hurley's name.

Anyone that is not already registered, can still register to run/walk for $25 starting at 8 a.m on race day.

Saucony is this year's sponsor and will provide Saucony sneakers and apparel for the top three finishers in each group.

The event will cause road detours/clourses throughout the morning.

  • Closed - 9:50 - 11:00am - Chestnut Street, from Payson Road to Mechanic
  • Detour - 9:50 - 10:30 a.m.- Mechanic Street traveling to the town center will be detoured east on Chestnut Street to Cocasset Street
  • Closed - 9:50 - 10:20 a.m. - (Westbound) of Chestnut Street, from Mechanic to North Street
  • Closed - 9:30 - 11:00 a.m. - Neponset Avenue
  • Closed - 10:00 - 10:30 a.m. - Bird and Baker street

The Post Race Event will be held at the Lafayette House on Route 1 in Foxborough. The event will include a free buffet and cash bar on an outdoor patio.
