Foxborough Ready for Irene, Mobilizing Resources

Foxborough is under a tropical storm warning. The town is mobilizing resources and is ready.

The has issued a tropical storm warning for the Foxborough area - Norfolk County.

Hurricane Irene continues to move north, northeast and will affect the region tonight and Sunday. Based on the current forecast track, people in Southern New England should prepare for a strong period of strong to damaging winds, heavy rainfall and the likelihood for coastal flooding.

Hurricane force winds are expected along the south coast of Rhode Island and Southeast Massachusetts on Sunday. Tropical Force winds are expected for the remainder of Southern New England Sunday.  These wind speeds will likely produce widespread damage with downed trees and power outages.

Foxborough fire, police, and highway departments are ready to assist the community as needed.
