Former NBA Player Chris Herren Speaks at FHS

Chris Herren spoke at an all school assembly at FHS on Jan. 13.

SAFE Foxborough Coalition member, Foxborough High School wellness teacher and boys varsity basketball coach CJ Neely organized an all school assembly at FHS with former NBA basketball player Chris Herren on Jan. 13.

Herren was drafted to the Denver Nuggets in 1999 and was eventually traded to the Boston Celtics where he suffered a season ending injury. He played overseas until 2003, trying to make his way back to the NBA, however his alcohol and drug use hit a breaking point.

Herren spoke to students at Foxborough High about his experiences with drug and alcohol addiction as well as his road to recovery.
