Five Things: Nov. 3: Community Day of Caring

Invensys in Foxborough is sponsoring a "Community Day of Caring" around town today.

1. Foxborough is closer than ever to 100 percent back with power, with National Grid reporting late Wednesday night that 38 customers are still without power. Thursday will be focused on individual outages. If you are a resident without power and the rest of your area has power, let the town know, as that is what they will be working today. (The number to Foxborough Fire Department's office 508-543-1238). A reminder that the town will only pick up tree limbs that originated in or near the town right of way. 2. There will be a meeting Tuesday night, Nov. 8 at 7:00pm in the High School auditorium regarding the storm. Officials are not sure if National Grid will be available for the meeting, but the town will be conducting a meeting regardless to inform the public.

3. Today is a "Community Day of Caring" with Invensys in Foxborough. 80 employees have pledged 600 hours of service. Employees will be stationed around town today giving back to the community of Foxborough. 

4. Officials are looking into the idea of personal reimbursements from FEMA or MEMA. Town Manager Kevin Paicos said that usually if the town qualifies, the individual would as well. If that is a possibility, officials would let residents know.

5. Attorney General Martha Coakley said she will launch the probe into how utilities worked to restore power to state residents after a weekend storm. Want to make your voice heard on power restoration efforts?
