Dispose of Christmas Trees Properly

State fire marshal says trees have been involved in fires.

State Fire Marshal Stephen Coan is urging community members to dispose of their Christmas trees properly.

Christmas trees kept too long after the holiday have been involved in fires in the past, Coan said in a press release.

In Foxborough, the Tree and Park Division will be picking up Christmas trees on weekdays from now through Friday, Jan. 11th.

Residents are asked to place trees curbside on your regular trash day. Residents may drop trees off at the Compost Site on East Belcher Road from Wednesday, Jan. 2 through Saturday, Jan. 5.

Trees must be clean with no ornaments, tinsel, garland and lights.
