Credit Union Seeks 90-Day Extension for Foxborough Family's Eviction Deadline

Another deadline extension is expected to be issued as John and Julie Hazeldine fight to keep their Spring Street home.

Here is the lastest update on John and Julie Hazeldine's fight for their 27 Spring St. home via the Save John and Julienne Hazeldine From Home Eviction Facebook page:

Direct Federal Credit Union is seeking a 90 day extension. Frankly, I do not understand real-estate law. DFCU purchased the Hazeldine house at auction for $85,000. The appraisers assessed the house and property at $100,000. So what is there to wait for?

I spoke to Julienne today and she mentioned that the Boston Community Capital lawyer (Hazeldine potential mortgage lender) is looking in to the matter. So much time has elapsed since DFCU purchased the house that DFCU has to go to court for the 90 extension. Will keep everyone informed as I learn what is transpiring. Thank you everyone.

Their previous stay of eviction was until the end of March.

The Hazeldines lost their home to foreclosure and had it auctioned to DFCU last September.

The family fell behind on mortgage payments after John suffered two strokes in 2008, leaving him with a limp in his right leg and his right arm paralyzed. He also underwent a hip replacement in 2012.

Now, they are hoping to be approved for a loan by Boston Community Capital to buy the property back and pay for much needed repairs to the house.

There has been an outpouring of support by the Foxborough community and beyond since their stituation came to light. So far, over $43,000 has been raised for the family.

Those who wish to donate should know that checks should no longer be made out to the Friends of Foxboro Seniors.

A bank account has been established at TD Bank Foxboro in the name of the John and Julienne Fund. Once a P.O. Box is set up the donations will be transferred to the account.

The P.O. Box has not yet been secured and those who wish to donate are asked to wait until then.
