MOMS Club of Foxboro: Reaching out to the Community

Learn about recent events, service projects, and community outreach by the MOMS Club of Foxboro.

The MOMS Club of Foxboro (Moms Offering Moms Support) is a local chapter of a national non-profit organization offering stay at home (or part time working) moms the opportunity to meet new people and participate in a variety of activities. I am currently the President of the Club and would love to keep you up to date on events, service projects, and other happenings within the Club.

This week, we had the pleasure of participating in a tour at the Shaw’s in Sharon. The children were able to learn about healthy eating habits while enjoying free samples along the way. The tour also included lobster touching (for the brave kids!), a view of the loading areas, a decorate your own cupcake station, and a chance to ring out items at the checkout. The kids all had a blast! We were a large group of Moms and children (nineteen children aged six and under!) and the store was really great in accommodating us. I can’t say enough good things about all the Shaw’s employees that we came in contact with!

We also used this opportunity to perform a service project for our community. When the tour was over, each child was able to pick out items for the MOMS Club to purchase to donate to the Foxboro Food Pantry.  The children were excited to find the items throughout the store and then place them in the Food Pantry box. It was really a great event where the children could have fun and also learn about helping out in the community. A win/win for everyone!
