Supporting Local Art and Artists

Art and the people who create it are a bigger part of your community than you know. Art is all around us and influences are lives on a daily basis. Artists enrich our communtiy with the beauty of their work whether it's hanging in a gallery or a mural in a school. They help educate children, arts education is becoming a leading factor in college and job preparedness. The arts cannot survive and thrive without the support of the community, its businesses and residences. There are many ways in which you can help support your local arts scene. Attend a local art event, they are often for free and even provide refreshments. Purchase original local work by local artist. Make a contribution or attend a fundraiser, most arts organizations are non-profit and donations can be tax deductible.
