Patch Sponsors 'Sounds of Summer' Concert Series at Patriot Place

Patch has teamed up with Patriot Place to sponsor the "Sounds of Summer" Concert Series, which takes place Sundays at the North Marketplace.

Patch is proud to announce it has teamed up with to sponsor the "Sounds of Summer" Concert Series, which is held Sundays at the North Marketplace from now until the end of summer.

Through this partnership, Patch has sponsored Patriot Place's showcase of local musicians on an outdoor stage located at the North Marketplace of Patriot Place to bring music to the plaza while you shop, dine and enjoy the area.

The concert series is free and offers a variety of music styles, according to Patriot Place, such as contemporary and alternative rock, jazz, blues, country, folk and 60’s progressive among others. So as you walk around the shopping and dining plaza, stop by the North Marketplace each Sunday from 4 to 7:30 p.m. to hear these musicians cover some of your favorite songs. The series runs from now until Aug. 26.

  • Sunday, July 29: Cry Uncle – 4-5:30 p.m.
    A small time band with big time aspirations to have fun, that's what this band is all about. Hailing from a small New Hampshire border town in northern Massachusetts they are four unique individuals who are the ingredients to an eclectic mix of songs that keep the party going.
  • Sunday, July 29: Shotgun Still – 6-7:30 p.m.
    Shotgun Still is the New England areas newest, and hottest cover band. After years as a party band, playing in many of the areas’ top music venues, these musicians are taking their sounds to Patriot Place. They’re bringing it on with just the right amount of rock ‘n roll swagger to move the party.
  • Sunday, Aug. 5: TransMission – 4-5:30 p.m.
    The long-running cover band, TransMission, continues to play the Rhode Island/Mass/Connecticut scene to rave reviews. This 3-piece group plays all of the best classic rock, 80's & 90's hits, and recent top 40 dance tunes.
  • Sunday, Aug. 5: Static Luminosity – 6-7:30 p.m.
    Static Luminosity is the result of extensive training for these 14-16 year olds who play jazz, blues, jam band and classic rock. The group consists of Jared Celia on bass, guitar and lead vocals, Robert Matthews-Forte on guitar, bass and lead vocals, Dan Tekin on guitar and bass and Noah Celia on drums and background vocals. They will pretty much play anything, play it well and don't just stick to one genre.
  • Sunday, Aug. 12: Heads Up – 4-5:30 p.m.
    Entertaining, energetic, solid musicianship and a concert sound playing all familiar Top 40, Rock & Dance Covers. Heads Up is a local cover band, based in Taunton and established in September 2007. Each member has over 10 to 15 years of experience in the music and entertainment field ranging from cover bands, original music, solo/acoustic sets and functions.
  • Sunday, Aug. 12: Split Risk – 6-7:30pm
    Split Risk is a 4-piece group of musicians who play for the love of the music. They’ve been playing limited engagements in and around the Boston area for the past year. Over that time they have built a loyal following of fans. For those of you who've not heard them, their rockin' rhythm section and killer vocals will knock your socks off!
  • Sunday, Aug. 19: City of Squares – 4-6 p.m.
    The music of piano-based rock quartet City of Squares (formerly The Briar Rose) combines the ferocity of powerhouses such as Bruce Springsteen and Michael Jackson with the sophisticated sensibility of poets like Sarah McLachlan and Damien Rice. Built upon a crooked tower of blues and soul, their distinctive brand of modern rock comes complete with edgy riffs, sultry undertones, danceable grooves and attitude to spare.
  • Sunday, Aug. 26: Miss Geo – 4-6 p.m.
    Abby Gutierrez aka Miss Geo hails from Newport, Rhode Island. She writes a mix of indie pop, new wave, and alternative. Her live band includes Chris Mendoza, James Wilhelmsen, and features Jessy Bartlett, a local Boston University songstress and college radio disc jockey.
