Massachusetts Tax Holiday, Aug. 13 and 14

Retailers gear up for the tax free holiday in Massachusetts, Aug. 13 and 14.

The weekend of Aug 13-14 is officially a holiday weekend for shoppers looking for a deal.

Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick signed a bill in early August creating another sales tax holiday in Massachusetts in hopes to boost sales during a slow time of year.

The tax holiday will shelve the 6.25 percent levy on most items selling for less than $2,500. If a discounted item originally cost more than $2,500 but was reduced to a price below that number, you can still purchase it tax-free.
