Hockomock Area YMCA Honors Volunteers at Annual Meeting

The 2010 Annual Meeting honoring young volunteers and organizations took place at Christina's on May 18, 2011.

The Hockomock Area YMCA honored volunteers and organizations that have created opportunities to produce positive change in our community during its annual meeting Wednesday at Christina's.

The Chairman's Award was in recognition of outstanding leadership in collaborating with the Hockomock Area YMCA as a mission partner in developing innovative solutions that meet the emerging needs of our communities. This year, the recipient of this award was the Deutsche Bank Championship (DBC). The DBC is the premier PGA Tour Playoff event held over Labor Day weekend at the TPC Boston. The YMCA is proud to be one of the DBC's beneficiaries, and is appreciative of the partnership that began at the tournament's inception. The DBC continues to support and contribute to the Y as they were in an innovator in the creation of the Kids Zone.

The Youth of the Year was presented to youth members of the Hockomock Area YMCA as a result of his or her commitment and positive impact on YMCA members, participants, and staff. The recipients were Connor Spilman of the Bernon Family Branch, Pauline DeAndrade of the Invensys Foxboro Branch, and Christopher Cotta of the North Attleboro Branch. All three played a huge role in contributing to their YMCA.
