Health Inspections: Violations at Dunkin' Donuts, Sal's and Mal's and Red Robin

The following inspection reports were submitted by the Foxborough Health Department for the week of May 18th.

Thursday, May 9:

Cupcake Charlie’s, 262 Patriot Place: Pre-operation inspection was conducted here and yielded no violations, according to inspector Diane Parrafaro’s report.

Parrafaro noted the following:

  • Post sign at hot water sink “hand washing sink only”
  • Keep food boxes off floor by six inches
  • Purchase drain board for adequate air-drying
  • Label sanitizes spray bottle
  • Provide book for adequate map drying
  • Provide covered trash receptacle in women’s room
  • OK to open: Ensure bathrooms are cleaned prior to opening
  • Kitchen is very clean

Sal’s and Mal’s, 8 Wall St: Routine food service inspection was conducted here and yielded two violation, according to inspector Diane Parrafaro’s report. These violations have since been corrected.

Parrafaro noted the following:

  • Noted employee washing hands in 3-bay sink with detergent
  • Hot water sink blocked by pizza dough
  • No hand soap in bathroom provided
  • Gaskets on main (back) refrigerator in disrepair; Repair/replace needed
  • No hair restraints on food prep employees
  • Eggs/deli meats above cheese package – needs to be relocated
  • Current sanitizing instructions old, replace with new ones
  • Pizza by slice should not be left out for more than one hour

Tuesday, May 14:

Chickie Flynn’s, 94 Washington St: Routine food service inspection was conducted here and yielded no violations, according to inspector Diane Parrafaro’s report.

Parrafaro noted the following:

  • No trash receptacle at hot water sinks (corrected immediately)
  • No data plate found on dishwasher
  • Chlorine test strip color comparison needed
  • Ensure chicken/fish flour is changed out every four hours

Dunkin Donuts, 30 Commercial St: Routine food service inspection was conducted here and yielded three violations, according to inspector Diane Parrafaro’s report. These violations have since been corrected.

Parrafaro noted the following:

  • Hot water sink blocked by trash can in back baking area
  • Hot water sink blocked by oven cooking paper box
  • Table blocking hot water sink
  • Bottom metal strip on walk-in floor coming undone, popping up, causing trip hazard (needs to be secured)
  • Missing light cover in storage area
  • Noted employee rinsing latte pitcher at hot water sink
  • Noted employee taking down dish soap and washed hands in 3-bay sink
  • Chemical hanging on dish rack holding clean food equipment  (ice scoop, sanitizer cups, pitchers, etc.)
  • Toilet bowl in men’s room is slightly loose
  • No allergy awareness sign on drive-thru menu board
  • Re-inspection has been scheduled

Foxborough Regional Charter School, Central St: Routine food service inspection was conducted here and yielded two non-critical violations, according to inspector Kevin Duquette’s report.

Duquette noted the following:

  • 3 bay sanitizer (test strips needed)
  • No access to hot water sink

Gulf Stadium, 20 Washington St: Routine retail inspection was conducted here and yielded no violations, according to inspector Diane Parrafaro report.

Parrafaro noted the following:

  • Restroom toilet bowl is loose and wobbly
  • Microwave not clean to sight

Red Robin, 290 Patriot Place: Routine food service inspection was conducted here and yielded one violation, according to inspector Diane Parrafaro’s report. The violation has since been corrected.

Parrafaro noted the following:

  • No trash receptacles at hot water sinks provided
  • Sanitizer buckets on floor, need to place off floor
  • Stainless steel counter coming undone, rusty, under parts exposed. Replacement needed
  • Rust deposits formed on back and sides of ice coder
  • Instrument that holds clean soft serve not clean to sight and touch
