Health Inspections: Lafayette House, Jake n JOES, Public Pools & More

The following inspection reports were submitted by the Foxborough Health Department for the week of June 1.

Thursday, May 16:

Lafayette House, 109 Washington St: Routine food services inspection was conducted here and yielded two non-critical violations related to food and food protection and equipment and equipment and utensils, according to Kevin Duquette’s report.

Duquette noted the following:

  • Floor storage – six inches of the floor
  • Salads in cooler in bowls; stacked on RTE (ready to eat) food
  • Cappuccino station cups dirty; spoons dirty
  • Chocolate cup loose sitting on shelf in cooler
  • Label and date items as needed
  • Watch the segragation

Monday, May 20:

Normandy Farms Family Camp, 72 West St: Pool inspection here deemed pools were OK to open following inspection, according to Diane Parrafaro’s report.

Parrafaro noted the following:

  • Copies of water analytical results needed
  • High chlorine levels were recorded on May 20th at both pools. Retest was needed.

Tuesday, May 21:

Jake n JOES, 25 Foxboro Blvd: Routine food services inspection was conducted here and yielded several issues, including two violated provisions related to Foodborne Illnesses Interventions and Risk Factors. All violations were corrected on May 28th, according to Diane Parrafaro’s report.

Parrafaro noted the following:

  • Knives placed in between equipment on grill line cooler. Upon notice, was taken off and washed immediately.
  • Broken thermometer in line cooler; all thermometers in coolers.
  • Food containers in grill line cooler not covered.
  • Wastebaskets missing at hot water sinks.
  • Piece of wood and broom in the way of safely grabbing.
  • Dry good containers not labeled.
  • Shelving holding large bins in food prep area not clean to sight and touch.
  • Eggs not located on bottom shelf; found above cheese in walk-in.
  • Spaghetti sauce package found below/next to raw hamburg in walk-in.
  • Employee drink (Red Bull) open in food/condiment cooler (thrown out immediately).
  • Utensil holders on grease trap.
  • Smoking issue/complaint. Establishment has no smoking signs next to patio with butt cans off entrance way.
  • Recommend covering cheese in cooler under grill; next to raw steak meat.
  • Ice machine was good.
  • Discussed changing flour/batter every four hours.
  • Discussed proper hot water and dishwater temperatures.

Hillcrest / Pine Tree / Putnam Apartments: No pool permits were given at these locations because water analytical results were not available at time of inspection, according to Diane Parrafaro’s report.

Parrafaro noted the following:

  • Keep chemicals off floor in chemical room (keep in dry location).
  • No water analytical results as of inspection day therefore no permit was given. Permit will be issued once results are received.

Residence Inn Pool/Spa, 250 Foxboro Blvd: Pool inspection here deemed pools were OK to open following inspection, according to Diane Parrafaro’s report.

Parrafaro noted the following:

  • New drain covers installed
  • Place sign detailing where first aid kit is located
  • Analytical results OK
  • Discussed closing the pool

Thursday, May 23:

Cannon Forge Main/Kiddie Pool, 25 Cannon Forge: Pool inspection here deemed the pool was OK to open following correction on several issues, according to Diane Parrafaro’s report.

Parrafaro noted the following:

  • Fill in concrete “holes” near right and left hand side of 4-foot ladder area of kiddie pool.
  • Ensure inlet and outlet covers are secure, no loose bolts, etc.
  • Deck depth markings needed
  • Concrete walkway will be repainted.
  • Pool was re-inspected on May 30th and deemed OK to open.

The Foxborough Lodge, 400 Foxboro Blvd: Pool inspection here deemed pool OK to open, according to Diane Parrafaro’s report.

Parrafaro noted the following:

  • Ensure inlet and outlet covers are secure, no loose bolts, etc.
  • Discussed closure of pool requirements
  • Discussed second bacterial report needed
