Health Inspections: Invensys Foxboro YMCA Pool, Courtyard Marriott & More

The following inspection reports were submitted by the Foxborough Health Department from May 2-9.

Thursday, May 2:

Invensys Foxboro YMCA Indoor Pool, 67 Mechanic St: Routine pool inspection was conducted here and yielded several issues that need to be addressed, according to Pauline Clifford’s report.

Clifford noted the following:

  • Toilet bowl needs to be bolted down and hand dryer must work or paper towels must be provided in room #2 of the family locker room
  • One tile missing at entranceway of pool. Must be repaired
  • Logs must be available at least every 14 days for tracking when pool is drained and cleaned
  • Pool/spa must be closed down when chlorine is over 3.0
  • Many log entries are out of code
  • Post “closed” signs at spa when appropriate
  • Repair showerhead in women’s locker room
  • Replace moldy shower curtains
  • Check vents in men’s locker room
  • Place all applicable signage as required by code
  • Keep exit way and path to storage/chemical room clear of equipment
  • Replace locker room shower handicap seat in stall #4 of family locker room (seat is currently rusted)

Foxborough Courtyard by Marriott, 35 Foxboro Blvd: Routine food services inspection was conducted here and yielded no violations but several issues that needed to be addressed, according to Diane Passafaro’s report.

Passafaro noted the following:

  • Label picks are re-used with only rinsing procedures in place. Wash, rinse, sanitize if picks are to be re-used
  • Clean dishes in close proximity to hand sink causing potential splash contamination
  • Place barrier at dishwasher area
  • Use sink for hot water in dish
  • In use utensils in ice holding egg cartons, corrected immediately
  • Several internally broken thermometers not accurately reading – needs replacement.
  • Microwave not clean to sight and touch in retail area 

Tuesday, May 7:

Residence Inn by Marriott, 250 Foxboro Blvd: Routine food services inspection was conducted here and yielded no violations but several issues that needed to be addressed, according to Diane Passafaro’s report.

Passafaro noted the following:

  • No thermometer in freezer in dry storage area
  • Wash temp on dishwasher did not reach mfg spec (150 degrees) – provide maintenance
  • Sanitizing bucket concentration low, empty, refill – corrected immediately
  • Plastic utensils in storage area in wicker basket that is porous and not easily ceannable, replace storage with a cleanable, non-porous storage

Thursday, May 9:

Normandy Farms Campground, Inc., 72 West St: Routine pool inspection was conducted here and was deemed “OK to open,” according to Pauline Clifford’s report.
