Health Inspections: Demetri's, Olive Garden, and More

Aug. 29

No violations were found during Diane Passafaro’s inspection. Notes made include, “post permit visible to public.”

Capriotti’s 

Two major violations were found during the inspection and have been corrected. Notes made include:

  • No wastebaskets at hand washing sinks, provide.
  • Improper cooling method. Hot meatballs in foil covered pan cooling in walk-in. Cover production of meatballs, usually in hot holding. Manager stated it was within two hours, placed immediately in water bath. Aware of time limit, will reheat and hot hold and perform cooling process. (corrected)
  • Hand-wash sink to the right of sandwich cooler not reaching proper temperature. Adjusted valve, hot water present (corrected).
  • Cutting boards are worn. Replace or resurface.
  • Rack holding clean pots blocking soap, moved during inspection.
  • Meat Slicer not used today and was not clean to sight.
  • Thermometers does not appear to be operating correctly. Has spares to use. 

Sept. 5

Demetri’s 

No major violations were found during Diane Passafaro’s inspection. The following notes were made:

  • Personal belongings with dry goods in back banquet area kitchen.
  • Ice chest has dust accumulations/debris, clean prior to each use.
  • Designate one sink for hand-washing. Provide soap and paper towels. No other use is allowed. Place hand-wash only sign.
  • Banquet kitchen ice machine has minor mold accumulation, clean regularly. 
  • Handwashing sink must be designated in banquet kitchen.
  • Post signage at dishwashers, “180°F.” Check temp, reading 170°F.

Aug. 29

Foxborough Country Club

No major violations were found during Diane Passafaro’s inspection. The following notes were made:

  • Ice scoop bucket had pencil in it and not cleaned to sight. Cleaned at inspection.
  • Invest in plastic cup lids at bar. Has been corrected.
  • No hand-wash sink labeled at bar, designate hand-wash sink. Uses kitchen one. Has been corrected.
  • Minor mold deposits on ice discharge machine on countertops. Cleaned at inspection.
  • Plastic piece separating soda hose set up missing. Possible cross contamination with soda hoses. Placed back at inspection. Drained ice and refilled.

Sept. 5

Foxboro Mandarin

All violations from an inspection on Aug. 28 were found to be corrected.

Sept. 4

Lowen’s Deli

During the inspection, one major violation was found. A Whirlpool Gold refrigerator was reading high with the food product reading between 45°-49°F. Product was weighted, and discarded voluntarily. 

Diane Passafaro's notes from the inspection included:

  • Wastebasket not provided at hand-washing sink, not provided.
  • Toilet seat loose in restroom, tighten.
  • Major ice accumulation in two stand-up freezers downstairs. Defrost needed.
  • Keep all goods covered or inverted.
  • Sandwich cooler that is offline has standing water and gnats noted. Keep bottom level clean.

Sept. 4 

Olive Garden

While no major violations were found, the following notes were made:

  • No hot water registering at hand-washing sink near dishwashing area, called plumber.
  • Minor dry good spills in dry good area. Clean shelving units, products.
  • Tongs laying on sandwich cover, not clean to sight. Rewashed at inspection and tongs also.

Sept. 4

The Tee Pee at the Ahern Middle School Field

No major violations were found but the following notes were made:
  • Allergy awareness statement not on menu, provide
  • Has restroom signs framed, will add arrows and portajohn signage.
