Health Inspections: Cupcake Charlie's, Five Guys, and More

Cupcake Charlie's

One critical violation was found during the inspection. An employee lightly moving a cupcake in an order on a pan was noted as slightly performing bare hands contact. The cupcakes were discarded.

The following notes were made:

  • No hair restraints on employees baking product.
  • Employee food/beverage in cooler with food with public.
  • Noted employee wetting towel for brushing off pastry tray in hand washing sink. Hand washing sink is only for hand washing.
  • Remove from display case Garelick 1% low-fat milk, sell by Oct. 2, 2013.
  • In-use utensils (vanilla bottle) were seen poking holes in cupcakes, then placed back in pant/apron pocket. In-use utensils should be stored in accordance to code.
  • Sponges used for cleaning. No sponges should be used.
  • Place employee allergy awareness sign.
  • Drainboard found stored against g.t. piping, relocate.

Oct. 2

D’Angelo Sandwich Shop

All violations from an inspection on Sept. 26 were found to be corrected.

Sept. 30

Demetri’s

While no critical or major violations were found, the following notes were made during the inspection:

  • Clean back ice machine, throw out ice, mold.
  • Check hot water at hand washing sink in dish washing area.
  • Ok to open.
  • Post permit and food (Serve safe certificate)

Oct. 2

Dunkin’ Donuts on Commercial Street

While no critical or major violations were found, the following notes were made during the inspection:

  • Minor dust accumulation on far vent.
  • Dry good bin (sugar) near bakery prep table not labeled, cover also cracked. Bin is now labeled.

Oct. 3

Five Guys Burgers and Fries

While no critical or major violations were found, the following notes were made during the inspection:

  • Potato bucket label is worn, hard to read, re-label.
  • Sanitize buckets on floor, some are off floor.
  • Shelving unit holding clean equipment has accumulation of grime, not clean to touch.
  • Standing water in containers holding condiment bottles. Condiment tips containing water. Rewashed at inspection.

Oct. 2

Gulf Stadium

While no critical or major violations were found, the following notes were made during the inspection:

  • Personal food not on designated shelf, not segregated from public.
  • All purpose cleaner and diesel treat above slush puppie mix. Segregate chemicals.
  • Food and container debris (pizza box) outside on floor, place all waste in waste receptacle.
  • Toilet bowl slightly wobbly - watch.
  • Counter shelving unit under pizza/hot dog oven. Chemicals and paper plates/hot dog wrappers on same shelf, segregate.

HESSCO Elder Services

No violations were found.

Sept. 26

Undine Corporation - Commercial Street

  • While no critical or major violations were found, the following notes were made during the inspection:
  • No hair restraint on food.
  • Ice pails not invested.
  • Dust accumulation on fan vent.
  • Toppings for oatmeal in front of unit in direct line with consumers retrieving oatmeal. Not consumer protected, relocate.
  • Microwave not clean to site, clean.
  • Provide more effective cooling approach to keep fruit 41 degrees. Discard of over 41 degrees for more than four hours.
  • Monitor temperature of yogurt also.
  • Allergy statement not as big as smallest font on menu board. Getting ride of these signs.

Sept. 28

Undine Corporation - Mechanic Street

  • While no critical or major violations were found, the following notes were made during the inspection:
  • Food stays in cooler overnight, no lock provided. Provide lock for security.
  • Food in cooler near hot holding area running high, monitor closely. Inspected just as lunch started (small cooler, open/closing to prep).

Sept. 26

Undine Corporation - Neponset Avenue

While no critical or major violations were found, the following notes were made during the inspection:
  • Fain in main kitchen has large accumulation of dust, clean more frequently. The fan has been moved out of establishment.
  • Ice machine noted having mold/biofilm on white discharge area. Cleaned by maintenance. 
  • Food derbies in hand washing sink. Hand washing sink for hand washing only. Has been labeled.
  • Mop sink no labeled. Has been corrected.
  • Hand washing sink in front not labeled. Has been corrected.
  • ED15-6 (Grill codes) reading high - monitor closely. Food came from walk-in, walk-in temperature reading below 41 degrees.
  • Rinse - 178 - Check gauge, confirm heater temperature. Heat exchanged was clogged. Has been unclogged and adjusted time control/sensor.
