Forbes: Patriots are World’s 6th Most Valuable Sports Franchise

Forbes recently released its list of the world's 50 most valuable sports teams and for the second straight year, the New England Patriots rank sixth on the list.

Foxborough continues to be home to one of the world's most valuable sports franchises, according to a recent report published in Forbes.

For the second straight year, Forbes ranked the New England Patriots sixth in its annual report of the 50 most valuable sports franchises in the world_.

The Patriots, worth a cool $1.4 billion, are tied with the Los Angeles Dodgers baseball franchise on Forbes' list. Topping this year's list is Manchester United's futbol franchise, worth an estimated $2.23 billion, according to Forbes. All 32 NFL franchises made the list but only two franchises finished ahead of the Patriots. Those organizations are the Dallas Cowboys, tied at number three with the New York Yankees and worth $1.85 billion, and the Washington Redskins at number five, worth $1.56 billion.

The Boston Red Sox came in as the state's only other sports franchise to make the list, showing up at number 24 and reportedly worth an estimated $1 billion.

The Patriots currently hold a sellout streak of 193 games, dating back to 1994 – the year Robert Kraft purchased the franchise. The streak includes all preseason, regular season and postseason games since Sept. 4, 1994.
