Food Inspections: Honey Dew, Trader Joe's and Bass Pro Shop

Sept. 12

Honey Dew Donut, 32 Commercial Street

While no major violations were found during the inspection, the following notes were made:

  • No wastebasket at hand-washing sink, provide.
  • Possible cross contamination of food prep area. Hand-wash sink is directly next to hand-wash sink with bagel slicer adjacent to close proximity to hand-wash sink. Take measures to reduce possible contamination. 
  • Drainboard holding clean equipment not clean to sight, keep clean.
  • Employee food noted on same shelf as food for public, segregate.
  • Personal belonging located with food equipment, has been corrected.
  • Bleach/chemical bottle with coffee packages, segregate, has been corrected.
  • Minor mold/biofilm accumulation on white lip of ice machine.
  • Warm/hot chocolate cooling in small milk cooler possible warming temperature of other product, no thermometer working in unit. Provide, ensure unit is holding product at 41 degrees or below. Discussed in phone conversation.


Sept. 18

Bass Pro Shop

No violations were found during the inspection.

Uncle Bucks at Bass Pro Shop

While no major violations were found during the inspection, the following notes were made:

  • Food in under-counter cooler not covered (tomatoes, sausages), corrected at inspection.
  • Fudge pans not correctly air drying (nesting).
  • Minor mold accumulation on left side of white plastic lip of ice machine.
  • Mop in bucket not allowing to air dry.

Trader Joe’s

One major violation related to food contact surfaces cleaning and sanitizing was found. According to the inspection, an employing at the expo line was not sanitizing for appropriate contact time.

Other notes made include:

  • Boxes of distilled vinegar, forks on ground, keep six inches off ground.
  • Pitcher for coffee water in close proximity to hand-wash sink for possible contamination, relocate.
  • Personal half eaten donut and coffee with no cover near food, food equipment for public.
  • Food allergy employee poster not noted in expo area.
  • Send an email to the BoH addressing sanitizing issue.
