Foxborough's Twenty8, Plainville's Chieftain Pub Win at YMCA's Wing Off Event

The restaurant was awarded the best buffalo wing at the YMCA's sixth annual Wing Off this past weekend.

The Hockomock Area YMCA sponsored its sixth annual Wing Off Saturday at Fusion 5 Sports Bar in Foxborough.

Six restaurants were competing for a chance to be crowned the "best wings" in the area.

The two categories were best buffalo and most creative. Chieftain Pub (Plainville) was crowned Best Buffalo Wiing. Twenty8 of Foxborough was crowned most unique wing, which was called “Chef Jason Ward’s Apple Coffee Chili Wing.”

The Hockomock YMCA is grateful to its event sponsors, including Blue Hill Plumbing & Heating of North Attleboro and Bob Rogers Roofing of Holliston and Auburn.

The feature band was the Matt Borrello Band.

Each restaurant brought their best buffalo wing as well as a unique wing. Unique wings included:

  • Chieftain Pub (Plainville) – Honey bacon
  • Clyde’s Roadhouse Bar & Grill (Walpole) – Sweet Chili Garlic
  • East Coast Grill (Cambridge) – North Carolina Mustard
  • James’ Breakfast & More (Wrentham) – Chipotle Pineapple Pork Wing
  • Red Stone Grill (N. Attleboro) – Asian BBQ
  • and Twenty8 (Foxborough) – Chef Jason Ward’s Apple Coffee Chili

All proceeds benefit the YMCA’s Reach Out for Youth & Families Campaign.  Every day, the Y works side by side with its neighbors and the community to make sure that everyone, regardless of age, income or background, has the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive.
