"Pops In Love" To Be Performed At Foxborough High School

Neponset Valley Philharmonic Orchestra's first Pops concert today at 3:00 p.m.

Celebrate Valentine's Day early by going see to the Neponset Valley Philharmonic Orchestra (NVPO) first Pops concert, entitled "Pops In Love," today starting at 3:00 p.m at

will feature Violin soloist Mitsuru Yonezaki and will be conducted by Lawrence Isaacson. 

The concert program features William Tell Overture (Rossini), Carmen Fantasy on Themes of Bizet (Sarasate) and featuring Yonezaki on the violin, Trumpeter’s Lullaby (Anderson), Ragtime (Flaherty), Themes from 007 (Arr. Custer), West Side Story (Bernstein), Fiddle-Faddle (Anderson), Hoe-down from “Rodeo” (Copland), and Begin the Beguine (Arr. Dragon).

Muscially gifted Yonezaki, began studying violin at the age of four with Fudeko Takahashi.  Within a year she successfully auditioned for New England Conservatory of Music’s String Training Orchestra. She has also won first prize in the Newton Symphony Young Soloists’ Competition and NEC’s Concerto Competition and played as the soloist with Newton Symphony Orchestra and NEC Youth Repertory Orchestra. 

Yonezaki, who is now only 12 years old, has also played in large ensembles at various venues including Symphony Hall, Boston Opera House and Jordan Hall. In 2009 she traveled to Costa Rica as a member of NEC Youth Symphony.
