Foxborough Musicians Marching On in Tradition

The Foxborough High School Marching Band goes camping Monday, Aug. 20 to Monday, Aug. 27.

Approximately 80 Foxborough High School students will band together at FHS next week to begin work on continuing the community’s “rich tradition of excellence” in music.

Members of the 2012-2013 FHS Marching Band will attend the school’s annual Marching Band Summer Camp from Monday, Aug. 20 to Monday, Aug. 27. The dates and times of rehearsal during camp week are as follows:

  • Monday, Aug. 20, 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
  • Tuesday, Aug. 21, 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
  • Wednesday, Aug. 22, 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
  • Thursday, Aug. 23, 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
  • Monday, Aug. 27, 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.

The band performs at all home football games and rallies throughout the fall and marches in the annual Memorial Day and Founder’s Day Parades in the spring.

“The football fans and townspeople have long appreciated the Marching Band’s intensity, school spirit, and powerful sound,” Foxborough High School administration said on its website. “The students commit a week in August to rehearse at the annual Marching Band Summer Camp and then work very hard to be prepared for the busy fall season. The group’s mantra “With Pride” is an ongoing source of pride for the entire Foxborough community.”
