McGinty Family Fun Day

The McGinty Family Fun Day will be held today from 11:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. on the Foxboro Common.

Activities will include face painting, live music from three bands, a magic show and lots of great raffles.  Some of the raffle prizes include Revolution tickets, a signed photo of former Patriot Tedy Bruschi and an autographed baseball from Red Sox Jacoby Ellsbury. Kicking off the day's activities will be special guest and Foxboro resident Maria Stephanos from FOX 25 TV.

Proceeds raised from the McGinty Family Fun Day entry--$5 per person, $20 family maximum—will go to the McGinty Scholarship Foundation which is named in loving memory of former Foxboro resident Michael McGinty.  The foundation awards two scholarships each year to college bound Foxboro residents to honor McGinty who was killed at the World Trade Center in the September 11, 2001 attacks at the age of 42.

Cindy McGinty, who now resides in Connecticut, and her son David - her other son Daniel is away at college - will be back in Foxborough to observe the tenth anniversary of this national tragedy and for the 2011 McGinty Family Fun Day.

This day of community service and family fun is run by volunteers, with several groups and businesses donating their time, talent and money.  Food will be provided by Loewen’s Deli.  The event is sponsored by the Foxboro Never Forgets committee which includes founder Chris Mitchell and his wife Paula who serves as coordinator of the McGinty Family Fun Day.
