Why is the Opening of the Boyden Library Delayed?

On Monday, the newly renovated Boyden Library was suppose to open but that did not happen.

According to the library, there is still work to be done on the library, meaning a permanent occupancy permit cannot be granted. Currently, the library has a temporary occupancy permit that allows workers to enter the building.

Once the work is done and the occupancy permit is granted, the library will be allowed to open to the public.

In the meantime, due dates have been extended and overdue fees will not be charged. Anyone in need of a library can use the the Mansfield Public Library.

Currently, no date has been announced for the reopening of the library with the date being described as a "moving target."
