Week in Review: Car Crash, AD Leaving and Pool Opening

A recap of this week's headlines from June 18-23.

The week started with a traumatic, head-on car crash that injured four people at the intersection of Main and Pierce Streets on Monday. Two of the victims were medflighted to Boston Medical for traumatic injuries but Foxborough Police Chief Edward O’Leary reported later in the week everyone involved in the crash was out of the hospital and “doing OK.” O’Leary added that 17-year-old Adam Chochrek of Foxborough was cited for “various traffic violations” for his role in the crash.

  • Laurel Dudley-Pappas, 22 years in special education
  • Diane Horton, 15 years as an art teacher
  • Cheryl L. Law, 18 years as an elementary teacher
  • Gerald A. Roy, 28 years as art teacher/ Head of Art Department
  • Judith A. Sherlock, 25 years as an educational assistant
  • Jeffrey Theodoss, six years as high school principal
  • Michael F. Tiano, 14 years as a guidance counselor
  • Kathleen J. Walsh, 20 years as a bus driver
  • Laurie C. Waterman, 27 years as a kindergarten teacher

Story: Foxborough School Committee Recognizes Retirees

In sports, we profiled this year’s Battle of Booth – a 24-hour baseball game to raise funds for the Foxborough Youth Baseball and Softball program. We also reported that Foxborough High School Athletic Director Craig Najarian is leaving his post after five years to take the same position at Holliston High and have the most recent scores and schedule for Foxborough’s Post 93 American Legion baseball team.

In real estate this past week, six homes sold in Foxborough and there were six open houses over the weekend.

Foxborough Police made seven arrests over the last week. In other police news this week, State Police are investigating State Trooper Adam Paicos, the son of Foxborough Town Manager Kevin Paicos, for four incidents, including allegedly driving the wrong way on Memorial Drive in Cambridge.
