Tri-Town Chamber of Commerce's Oktoberfest

Taste of the Tri-Town draws big crowd, despite the weather.

The hosted its fourth-annual Oktoberfest on Tuesday to a crowd of hungry, if a little wet, denizens at .

The rain did not stop the appetites of those who came, as vendors from all over the area put their food up for tasting. Participants dug in and tried a little bit of everything.

This is the fourth year of the event, and according to Tri-Town Chamber organizer and volunteer Kathy Griffin, it's as well attended as previous years.

"We have a lot of walk-in people who came in last minute, which is great," she said. "Last year it rained as well and we had some great turnout too."

All proceeds go to food pantries in the three towns. Last year, the event raised $6,800, and collectively the event has raised over $18,000 over the past three years. Food pantries including in Foxboro, in Mansfield and Cupboard of Kindness in Norton.

Vendors of all shapes and sizes showed up to feature their fare and donate to area food banks. Mother and daughter musical team Liz and Danielle provided an eclectic musical background for the vent.

"We always have a great mix of vendors," Griffin said. "The restaurants donate the food, donate their time, and we always have a great mix of entertainment as well."
