Petition Calling on Selectmen to Reconsider Splitsville Vote Now Circulating

One week after a controversial 3-2 decision by the selectmen to deny a liquor license transfer to Splitsville, protests against the vote have begun.

This week, a petition has begun circulating demanding the selectmen to reconsider their vote denying the transfer of a liquor license to Splitsville Luxury Lanes at Patriot Place.

Volunteers will be out at Stop and Shop and the Commons over the weekend to collect signatures and local businesses are also keeping copies for customers to sign.

Petitions are also available at Sals & Mals on Wall Street, Sunoco on Main Street, and Loewen's Deli on Bird Street.

Since the first public hearing on Oct. 29, public support for Splitsville has been near unanimous. During citizen's input before the hearing, all speakers were in favor of transferring the liquor license to Splitsville. The vast majority of comments on the issue on Foxborough Patch have also been in favor of the luxury bowling alley.
