1. Expect a Partly Sunny Thursday with a High Around 38 in Foxborough

Today’s weather in Foxborough, according to the National Weather Service based in Taunton, calls for partly sunny, with a high near 38. West wind 7 to 14 mph. Thursday night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 20. Northwest wind 11 to 14 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.

2. Foxborough Detective May Have Won Lottery

Foxborough police detective Brian Gallagher may be the town’s newest millionaire.

According to The Sun Chronicle, Gallagher is believed to be the winner of a “$10,000 a Week for Life” scratch ticket he purchased at The Country Store at 212 North St. (Route 1) Foxborough.

Gallagher, who could not be reached by The Sun Chronicle Tuesday or Foxborough Patch Wednesday, has been a police officer in town for over 20 years and served as Foxborough High School’s wrestling coach for 11 years. If Gallagher is the owner of the winning scratch ticket purchased last Friday at the local convenience store, he will have the option of choosing an $8 million, one-time payout or collect roughly $10,000 a week for life, according to the Chronicle.

The Country Store also sold a $1 million scratch ticket winner in October 2011, according to The Sun Chronicle.

The Massachusetts State Lottery publishes the names and hometowns of lottery winners when said winners claim their prizes. “$10,000 a Week for Life” scratch tickets cost $20 per ticket.

3. Planning Board to Hold 8 Public Hearings Thursday

Foxborough’s Planning Board will hold eight public hearings to consider proposed warrant articles to be presented at Foxborough’s Annual Town Meeting on May 6. Click here to review the warrant articles. The public hearings begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Andrew Gala Meeting Room of Town Hall.

5. Calling All Foxborough Artists! Assembled: The Handmade Arts Market Wants You

Calling all Foxborough area artists! Mark your calendars for the area’s newest weekly arts/crafts market. Assembly Row in Somerville is now seeking submissions for Assembled: The Handmade Arts Market at Assembly Row, a celebration of the visual arts taking place along the Mystic River from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays beginning May 18 and ending Sept. 21.

Assembled will showcase the work of local and regional artists including painters, sculptors, jewelry designers, weavers and more. Food trucks will also be on site providing lunch and refreshments. Space is limited.
