Foxborough Fireworks Show Canceled

The show had been scheduled for Thursday, but thunderstorms are in the forecast.

Patriot Place on Wednesday announced it canceled its fireworks show due to the threat of thunderstorms.

The show had been scheduled for Thursday at 9 p.m. Organizers said they will reschedule it for a later date.

The forecast Thursday calls for thunderstorms Thursday after 2 p.m.

Officials across the state have canceled fireworks shows ahead of the predicted storms.

"Based on a number of factors, most importantly the weather and safety of our guests, staff and public safety officials, we have decided to cancel the free Fireworks Spectacular at Patriot Place scheduled for Thursday," Patriot Place General Manager Brian Earley said in a statement.

The Harvard Pilgrim "Finish at the 50" 5K and 10K road races planned at Patriot Place for Thursday, July 3, will go on as scheduled. Race management and Patriot Place officials will continue to monitor the weather closely and provide updates to Thursday’s schedule, including pre-race activities at www.FinishAtThe50.com.
