Boyden Library Reopening Delayed

The library hopes to reopen by the end of July.

Those waiting to see the inside of the newly renovated Boyden Library will have to wait a bit longer.

In a message posted on the library's Facebook page, unfinished preparations for the move back into the building has forced a cancelation of the July 15 reopening.

The new opening date is considered a "moving target" but the library is aiming to reopen by the end of July.

Since November 2011, the Boyden Library has been located in a temporary located at Chestnut Green while renovations were done. That location was closed on June 15 in preparation for a move back to the library.

In 2010, voters in Foxborough's town election supported a $7.5 million debt exclusion to help pay for the renovations. Authorization to spend the money was approved later a week later at the annual town meeting.

A public capital campaign named Beyond Books was launched earlier this year to help raise the additional $750,000 needed to fund the project.
