Reason for Running:
As many people know, I am very passionate about running. A goal in my life is to complete a marathon. If I am going to run the marathon, I want to do it for a good cause. Cancer is a continuous issue in many people's lives. In my life and my family's lives, cancer has been prevalent.

My Grammy, Joanne, fought off colon and uterine cancer four years ago. She then acquired lung cancer and passed away the day after Christmas. My Uncle Jack had glioblastoma, which is a brain tumor. He passed away at only 49 years old, which was rather difficult for my family.

Currently, my Nana, Margery, is fighting off lung cancer. She is an amazing woman and I am inspired by her.

This cause is extremely important to me and my entire family. I know a lot of my friends have family suffering from all different cancers as well. I want to run this marathon for all of the people who are fighting cancer, or have passed away from it.

I also have a Dana-Farber page with more information on it!

Marathon experiences:

This is my first marathon and I am more than excited to be running it with the Dana-Farber team!

Training tips:

Training for the marathon can be really tough. I did it so it would be fun for me because I love to run.

I ran up to 18 miles before the marathon. During this time, injuries were prevalent. I work at Mass Sport and Spine in Walpole and they helped me throughout every injury I acquired.  All the physical therapists were very supportive and helpful during my training.
