Monday, Feb. 25:

Foxborough High School Hockey vs. Silver Lake, MIAA D3 South Sectional State Tournament Preliminary Round, 5:30 p.m., Fall River: The Warriors open state tournament play Monday against Silver Lake in Fall River. Foxborough lost twice to Silver Lake in the regular season.

Foxborough High School Boys’ Basketball at Norwell High School, MIAA D3 South Sectional State Tournament Preliminary Round, 7 p.m., Norwell High School: The Warriors open state tournament play Monday against Norwell at Norwell High School. Tip-off is 7 p.m.

Foxborough School Committee, 7 p.m., Foxborough High School Media Center: Foxborough's School Committee will meet Monday at 7 p.m. in the Foxborough High School Media Center to discuss the following business:

  • 7:20 p.m. - Teaching and Learning Highlights Seventh Grade - Exchange City Ms. Alison Mello, Ahern School Students
  • 7:35 p.m. - Acceptance of Donations - Ms. Debbie Spinelli
  • 7:45 p.m. - Revision of 2013-2014 School Calendar - Ms. Debbie Spinelli
  • 7:55 p.m. - Mid-Year Update of Strategic Plan and Superintendent’s Entry Plan – Three Key Strategies Ms. Debbie Spinelli
  • 8:30 p.m. - Superintendent Evaluation Mid-cycle Review - Ms. Debbie Spinelli
  • 8:45 p.m. - Second Reading of Policies - Ms. Beverley Lord, Ms. Tina Belanger

Foxborough Historic Commission, 7:30 p.m., Memorial Hall: The Foxborough Historic Commission will discuss the Lions Club proposal for an electronic Common sign on Monday at 7:30 p.m. at Memorial Hall. The Commission is also expected to discuss the status of the exterior stone walls of the Reservoir and Memorial Hall, Historic House plaques, historic markers, Paine School and more.

Water & Sewer Commissioners, 7 p.m., Water Department Office: Foxborough’s Board of Water & Sewer Commissioners will meet at 7 p.m. Monday in the Water Department Office of Town Hall to discuss funding formulas for sewer and water space needs and proposed sewer service area (district planning).

Foxborough Conservation Commission, 4 p.m., Town Hall: Foxborough’s Conservation Commission will meet at 4 p.m. Monday in the Andrew Gala Meeting Room of Town Hall to hear an update on the Neponset Reservoir Management Program and review the Notice of Intent for Foxboro Sports Center’s proposed addition of a skating rink and parking lot expansion at 10 East Belcher Rd. ConCom is also expected to discuss proposed town auction properties – Lincoln Hill Camp on Oak Street and Garrett Spillane Road; Earth Day 2013 Celebration planning and Conservation rental properties.

Tuesday, Feb. 26:

Foxborough Board of Selectmen, 6:30 p.m., Foxboro Town Common

Foxborough’s Board of Selectmen will meet at 6:30 p.m. on the Town Common to view the Town Common sign as part of the Lions Club proposal for an electric Common sign. Meeting will adjourn on the Common and reconvene in the Andrew Gala Meeting Room at 7 p.m.

Foxborough Board of Selectmen, 7 p.m., Andrew Gala Meeting Room: Foxborough’s Board of Selectmen will meet Tuesday to discuss the following town business:

  • Town Clerk Bob Cutler discusses Foxborough holding a dual election this spring.
  • Selectman Lorraine Brue will lead the Town Manager Act discussion
  • Selectmen will hold a public hearing to review the application for the New England Revolution 2013 soccer season and schedule at Gillette Stadium
  • Mass Gaming Commission will hold a Q&A with the BOS following a presentation of the state’s gaming licenses and discussion of the proposed racino in Plainville.
  • Selectmen will open the continued public hearing for Jake n JOES to review the application for an alteration of premises for the all alcohol restaurant license and application for approval of new stockholders.
  • Town Manager Kevin Paicos will give selectmen a post-blizzard report
  • Selectman Virginia Coppola will discuss personnel wage by-law changes
  • Selectman will discuss the status of the town’s indemnification agreement with Gillette Stadium regarding this summer’s Kenny Chesney, Taylor Swift and Bon Jovi concerts
  • Selectmen will go into executive session to discuss deployment of security personnel.

PAC Meeting, 7-8 p.m., Ahern Middle School: Ahern Middle School’s PAC will meet from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.

Wednesday, Feb. 27:

Advisory Committee, 7 p.m., Andrew Gala Meeting Room, Town Hall: Foxborough’s Advisory Committee meets Wednesday to discuss warrant articles for May’s Annual Town Meeting.

Boyden Library Trustees, 7 p.m., Foxborough High School Media Center: The Boyden Library Trustees will meet to hear a report from the Friends of the Boyden Library, review financial, staff, and director’s reports, review proposed FY14 budget, discussion of addition and renovation project issues, capital campaign discussion.

Skating Academy Basic Skills Ice Skating Class, 1-2 p.m., Foxboro Sports Center: Learn to skate or pick up where you left off. Classes for children ages 3+.  Adult class offered as well. Seven-week class. Rental skates available for $5 in the pro shop. Helmets recommended for beginners. Cost for class is $105. Foxboro Fit Club, 7 p.m., Taylor Elementary School: Foxboro Fit Club is back every Wednesday from now until April.

Winter’s Wind Movie, 7 p.m., Showcase Cinemas de Lux, Patriot Place: Winter’s Wind is the story of one man’s journey from protégé to Guru / Mentor / Legend, played by the real legends of big mountain skiing - past, present and future. Shot on 16mm film and HD video, this is a feature-length ski action epic.

Matt Herriger, writer, director and cinematographer, originally from Duxbury, has presented this movie at film festivals in Telluride and Sun Valley. Jack Shaw of Powder Magazine wrote:

"What an opus. It was like nothing I have ever seen. Part Zen koan, part Japanese Haiku. Part Norman Rockwell. Part Daydreams. 100 percent amazing. Inspirational."

Foxborough High School Girls’ Basketball vs. Holliston, MIAA State Tournament Division 2 South Sectional State Tournament First Round, 7 p.m., Foxborough High School: The Foxborough High School girls’ basketball team hosts Holliston in the first round of the MIAA Division 2 South Sectional State Tournament.

Thursday, Feb. 28:

Fanautical Fashion Show, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Fanautical, Patriot Place: Join Fanautical on Feb. 28th for a Fanautical Fashion Show. Sponsored by Elite Dance Center.

Fun and Games with 5Wits, 6 p.m., 5Wits, Patriot Place: Join 5Wits for a night of fun and games! Try some of its favorite board and card games and have a chance to take them home for a steal.

Trivia at Red Robin, 7:30 p.m., Red Robin, Patriot Place: Come try your luck during trivia at Red Robin.

Foxborough Planning Board, 7:30 p.m., Andrew Gala Meeting Room,Town Hall: Foxborough’s Planning Board will hold a public hearing Thursday to consider the following warrant articles for the May 6 Annual Town Meeting:

  • First article: Amend zoning by-laws to correct a reference in section 9.3 Flood Plain Overlay District.
  • Second article: Amend the zoning by-laws by adding a new section 7.5 Interim Regulations for Medical Marijuana uses.
  • Third article: Amend the zoning by-laws section 8.3.4. Dimensional and Design requirements.
  • Fourth article: Establish a Municipal Affordable Housing Trust.
  • Fifth article: Fund the completion of the Master Plan.

Friday, March 1:

Burrell Family Fun Day, 10 a.m., Burrell Elementary School: Come join the Burrell School for its annual Burrell Family Fun Day that features games and activities for kids of all ages, including:

  • Balloon Blaster
  • Speed Pitch
  • Bouncy Obstacle Course
  • Break a Plate
  • Arts and Crafts
  • A Fun Salon- including nails, hair paint and tattoos
  • Balloon Animals
  • Refreshments: Pizza, slushies, cotton candy, bake sale, and more.

Foxborough Recreation Department’s Parents Night Out, 5:30 to 8 p.m., CRRA Hall

The Foxborough Recreation Department will be holding a Parents Night Out event on Friday from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at the CRRA Hall at 68 Mill St. Parents are encouraged to register their kids for the event so they can go out and enjoy time with their spouse or friends. Kids are asked to come in pajamas and bring a sleeping bag. Foxboro Recreation will provide pizza, snacks, crafts, games and a movie to watch. The event is for ages 5 to 11. Cost is $15 per child. Pre-registration is required for the event.

Saturday, March 2:

Patriots Cheerleaders Open Auditions, 10 a.m., Dana Farber Field House, Gillette Stadium: The New England Patriots cheerleaders will hold an open audition for the 2013 squad on Saturday, March 2.
Women who are at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or GED are invited to audition. The auditions will take place in Gillette Stadium’s Dana Farber Field House. Registration begins at 10 a.m.

Candidates will perform two designated routines and a freestyle combination. They will be judged on dance ability, showmanship, overall appearance and level of physical fitness.

Judges will narrow the field to up to 65 participants to be invited back for final auditions on Saturday, March 16. For more information on the audition process can, click here.

Dadmun’s Defense Against Multiple Myeloma: A night of fun with raffles, silent auction, appetizers and cash bar. Admission is $10. For tickets, e-mail Dadmunsdefense@yahoo.com. All proceeds go to Mark Dadmun, who is currently fighting Multiple Myeloma.

Finale on Ice at Winter Skate, 6 p.m., Winter Skate, Patriot Place: Join Winter Skate for a Finale on Ice to benefit the Hockomock Area YMCA's Reach Out for Youth & Families Campaign. Cost is $5 and features special guests skaters Toby Evett, Nathaniel Dennler, Adrian Huertas, Jade Esposito, Nathan Rensing, Jenna Raheb, Kyoko Yano and Ocean State Theatre on Ice. The event, presented by Harvard Pilgrim, is directed by Ashley Brouillette with music by Creative Music Productions. Finale on Ice is sanctioned by U.S. Figure Skating.
