Around Town: Food Code Violation at Berry Yogurt, Liquor License Violation at Fusion 5, Water Issues on Mechanic Street and More

Here's a look at Foxborough's meeting schedule this week, Oct. 15-21.

The following meetings and events will be held in Foxborough this week.

Monday, Oct. 15:

  • Board of Health, 7 p.m. at the Andrew Gala Meeting Room in Town Hall: The Board of Health will meet with Berry Yogurt’s manager, Mimi Tran, to discuss food code violations that have occurred at the frozen yogurt shop located at Patriot Place. Berry Yogurt opened in Foxborough on Saturday, July 28 and serves over 30 flavors of frozen yogurt. The board will also discuss septic variance for 8 Connie Dr., review bills, approve Sept. 24 meeting minutes, review tobacco regulations and receive updates from Foxborough’s Health Agent.
  • Foxborough School Committee, 7 p.m. at Media Center of Foxborough High School: The School Committee will formally introduce new Facilities Manager, Tony Moussalli and hear an update on the transition. Members will also receive an overview of the MCAS and Foxborough’s scores from Superintendent Debbie Spinelli and Assistant Superintendent Dr. Amy Berdos. The committee will discuss Spinelli’s goals for 2012-13 and also receive an update on enrollment as of Oct. 1.
  • Board of Water and Sewer Commissioners, 7 p.m. at Water Department office in Town Hall: The Board of Water and Sewer Commissioners are expected to discuss the sewer district and estimated completion date shortly after the meeting opens followed by a discussion related to the administration of the billboard advertising contract with FXP and possible RFP for re-use water tank. Also expected to be discussed at Monday’s meeting is the well monitoring at Witch Pond, sewer permit for 1 Constitution Way – the site of the new Meditech property – and the water issues at 63 Mechanic St. The board will also hear an update on the status of negotiations between the town and the Kraft Group for Patriot Place expansion.

  • Ahern Middle School Grade 6E YMCA Ropes Course will be taking place from 8:15 a.m. to 2:15 p.m.

Tuesday, Oct. 16:

  • Board of Selectmen, 7 p.m. at the Andrew Gala Meeting Room in Town Hall: The board will hear an update from Town Counsel Richard Gelerman on the status of negotiations between the town and the Kraft Group regarding Patriot Place expansion. The BOS has received an application for the MIAA high school football Super Bowls to be held at Gillette Stadium on Dec. 1. The board will open a public hearing to discuss and review liquor violations at Fusion 5 located at 105 Washington St. on Route 1. The board will also open a public hearing to review Asian Ginger’s application for a wine and malt restaurant license. The BOS and Town Manager Kevin Paicos are expected to set a date for fall Town Meeting and Paicos will discuss healthcare changes per new legislation.

Wednesday, Oct. 17:

  • Voter registration deadline: Today is the deadline to register to vote or change party enrollment before the 2012 State (Presidential) election on Tuesday, Nov. 6. The Town Clerk’s office will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday. For more information, click here.
  • Advisory Committee, 7 p.m., at the Andrew Gala Meeting Room in Town Hall: The Advisory Committee is expected to hear a presentation on the Town Hall renovation/replacement project.
  • Boyden Library Board of Trustees & PMSBC, 7 p.m. at Foxborough High School Media Center: Click here for the meeting’s agenda. 

Foxborough Public School Events:

  • Foxborough High School grades 10 and 11 will be taking the PSATs from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m.
  • Len Cabral’s storytelling program, K-4 at Burrell Elementary will be held from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.
  • BIT Math information night for parents of grades 1-4 will be held 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Burrell School.

Thursday, Oct. 18:

  • Zoning Board of Appeals will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday in the Andrew Gala Meeting Room.

Friday, Oct. 19:

  • Foxboro Recreation Department’s Halloween Bash: Join the Foxboro Recreation Department for a Halloween Bash from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Ages 6 and up are welcome to attend. There will be goblin toss, mummy wrap relays, apple bowling, monster splat and make your own trick-or-treat bags. Those attending are asked to come in costume.

Foxborough Public Schools Events:

  • Spirit week concludes at Foxborough High School.
  • Pep rally will be held at Foxborough High School from 1:15 to 2 p.m.
  • Homecoming football game against Oliver Ames will be held at 7 p.m. at Ahern Field.

Saturday, Oct. 20:

  • Foxboro Recreation Department’s Halloween Bash: Join the Foxboro Recreation Department for a Halloween Bash from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Ages 3-8 and are welcome to attend. There will be goblin toss, mummy wrap relays, apple bowling, monster splat and make your own trick-or-treat bags. Those attending are asked to come in costume.

Foxborough Public School Events:

  • Fall Festival will be held at the Igo School cafeteria from 5 to 8 p.m.
  • Homecoming dance will be held at Foxborough High School from 7 to 10 p.m.
