Here's a roundup of events and meetings in Foxborough this week, Jan. 14-20.

The following meetings and events will be held in Foxborough this week:

Monday, Jan. 14:

Foxborough Public Schools Kindergarten Sign Ups, 2-7 p.m., Igo Elementary School Cafeteria

  • Foxborough Public Schools is holding registration for incoming kindergarten students for the 2013-14 school year on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 2-7 p.m. at the Igo Elementary School cafeteria. Children must be 5 years old on or before Aug. 31. Notarized birth certificate and proof of residency required for registration. Health forms are available upon arrival.

Mansfield/Foxborough/Norton IMA, 6 p.m., Mansfield Town Hall Meeting Room 2A/B

Representatives from Mansfield, Foxborough and Norton will meet in Mansfield Monday to discuss the following:

  • Legislative update on connection fee for Intermunicipal Agreement
  • Effluent Recharge Site
  • Community flow requirement confirmation and updates from Foxborough, Mansfield and Norton

  • Schedule to finalize district agreement for signature

Harlem Wizards Basketball Game, 7 p.m., Foxborough Regional Charter School

  • The Parents In Education (PIE) group of Foxborough Regional Charter School is bringing the Harlem Wizards to Foxborough Monday. This is the Wizards 50th anniversary tour. There will be souvenirs available at the game and the Wizards players will stay until every last autograph has been signed. PIE will also have refreshments available for sale. Tickets are required for entry to the event. Tip-off at Foxborough Regional Charter School is 7 p.m.

Conservation Commission, 7 p.m., Andrew Gala Meeting Room of Town Hall

  • Foxborough’s Conservation Commission will meet Monday at Town Hall. To view the meeting’s agenda, click here.

Board of Water & Sewer Commissioners, 7:30 p.m., Water Department Office of Town Hall

  • Foxborough’s Board of Water & Sewer Commissioners will meet Monday at 7:30 p.m. to discuss water and sewer rate studies, request for sewer capacity from developers in Sharon and an update on the Oak Street Water Treatment Plant.

Tuesday, Jan. 15:

Storytime at Showcase Cinema de Lux, 11 a.m., Patriot Place

  • Meet Clifford at Kids Club Storytime.

Board of Assessors, 4:30 p.m., Andrew Gala Meeting Room of Town Hall

  • Foxborough’s Board of Assessors will meet Tuesday to sign and approve warrants, review and sign motor vehicle abatements and review real estate abatement applications.

Free information session - Weight Loss Surgery, 6 p.m., Brigham and Women’s/Mass General Health Care Center at Patriot Place

  • If you are thinking about weight loss surgery and have questions, come to a free information session provided by the Center for Metabolic Health and Bariatric Surgery at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital.

Board of Selectmen, 6 p.m., Andrew Gala Meeting Room of Town Hall

Foxborough’s Board of Selectmen will meet at Town Hall at 6 p.m. Tuesday in executive session to discuss a litigation matter. The board will follow with a public meeting at 7 p.m. to discuss the following town business:

BOS chair James DeVellis will update the board on his discussion with the Kraft organization.

A continued public hearing for the Kenny Chesney concerts in August at Gillette Stadium will resume Tuesday at 7:10 p.m. Walpole’s Board of Selectmen and Town Manager are expected to attend.

At 7:30 p.m., the BOS will resume the continued public hearing for the Taylor Swift concerts at Gillette Stadium in July.

At 7:45 p.m. the BOS will open the public hearing for the Bon Jovi concert at Gillette Stadium in July.

At 8:15 p.m., Town Manager Kevin Paicos is expected to discuss the regional sewer agreement finance plan with the BOS. Members of the Water and Sewer Board and DPW Director Roger Hill will also be on hand.

Board of Recreation, 7 p.m., Recreation Office on South Street

  • Foxborough’s Board of Recreation will discuss conservation land with Heather Harding, discuss the town’s turf field project and Payson Road field.

Wednesday, Jan. 16:

Free Art Experiences Series, 5 p.m., Bright Horizons at Foxborough

Join Bright Horizons at Foxborough for "Let's Tangle,” an art experience where you and your child will create your own “tangle.” RSVP to (508) 543-7393. Limit 10 children per class. Class is free and open to the community.  Refreshments will be served.


Foxboro Fit Club is Back, 7 p.m., Taylor Elementary School

  • The Boyden Library Trustees will meet to discuss proposed FY14 budget and addition of and renovation project issues.

Advisory Committee, 7 p.m., Andrew Gala Meeting Room of Town Hall

Foxborough’s Advisory Committee will meet to discuss the following proposed FY14 budgets:

  • Board of Health / Health Agencies
  • Concil on Aging & Human Services
  • Historical Commission
  • Library
  • Veterans
  • Recreation

AdCom will also hold a general discussion about the proposed March 4 Special Town Meeting.

Thursday, Jan. 17:

Coffee with Taylor School Principal Peter Regan, 9 to 11 a.m., Taylor Elementary School

  • Stop by the Taylor School between 9 and 11 a.m. to chat with Taylor School principal Peter Regan over coffee.

Ahern Middle School Field Trip to USS Constitution

  • Ahern Middle School’s sixth graders will take a field trip to the USS Constitution.

Ahern Middle School Band, Chorus, Orchestra & Jr. Jazz Concert, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., Ahern Middle School Auditorium.

  • Ahern’s eighth grade band, chorus, orchestra and Jr. Jazz will perform in concert.

Foxborough High School National Honor Society Induction, 7 p.m., Foxborough High School

  • Foxborough High School will hold an induction ceremony for its National Honor Society.

Rally for the Pats, 7 p.m., CBS Scene

  • The Sports Hub Street team will be on-site with giveaways and more including a pair of Patriots tickets to the AFC Championship game.

Second Annual Curriculum Night, 6:30 p.m., The Learning Experience

Ahern Middle School Field Trip to USS Constitution

  • Ahern Middle School’s sixth graders will take a field trip to the USS Constitution.

Foxborough High School Concert – Wooden Dinosaur, 7 p.m., FHS Auditorium

  • Wooden Dinosaur concert will be held at Foxborough High School.

Artist's Studio & Gallery features Medfield High School, 5-9 p.m., Artist’s Studio & Gallery at Patriot Place

  • The Artist's Studio & Gallery at Patriot Place hosts Medfield High School displaying pieces of student art along with other artists from around the area. Stop in and check out these great pieces.

Hockomock Area YMCA Winter Wonderland, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., Invensys Foxboro Branch

  • The Hockomock Area YMCA invites area residents to enjoy a Winter Wonderland evening event on Friday, Jan. 18 at Invensys Foxboro Branch from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. The free community event offers interactive games and crafts for both members and non-members. AFC Championship Game: Baltimore Ravens vs. New England Patriots, 6:30 p.m. at Gillette Stadium

  • For the second consecutive season, the AFC Championship game will be played in Foxborough as the New England Patriots once again host the Baltimore Ravens at Gillette Stadium with a trip to Super Bowl XLVII hanging in the balance. Click here for more.
