2. Hockomock Area YMCA to Host Family Valentine Dance Friday
The Hockomock Area YMCA invites area residents to wear red on Friday for the ‘Healthy Hearts’ Family Valentine Dance from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the Y's Bernon Family Branch (45 Forge Hill Rd., Franklin) and Invensys Foxboro Branch (67 Mechanic St., Foxborough) and 6-8 p.m. at the Y's North Attleboro Branch (300 Elmwood St., North Attleboro). The dances were originally scheduled last Friday but the Blizzard of 2013 postponed the event to Feb. 15.
This free event guarantees a good time for all with a DJ and lots of dancing, including 20-minute intervals of line dances for teens and follow-the-leader songs for preschoolers. Many other activities are planned including a nail salon, arts and crafts, scooter relays, fruit and vegetable fondues, healthy snacks, and more for members and non-members alike.
The North Attleboro Branch is partnering with the American Heart Association to celebrate healthy hearts. Children are invited to fill out healthy heart passports and win prizes. Come visit the Y's membership lobbies to purchase high-end, $3 Valentine’s Day candles for your loved ones and support our Reach Out for Youth & Families annual campaign.
In addition, the North Attleboro branch will also have a balloon artist on-hand and the Franklin and Foxborough locations will offer face painting. Each branch will also offer a grilled cheese and tomato soup family dinner option for $3 per member and $5 per non-member. Dinner starting times vary by branch.

So far the department has had several items generously donated for its raffle but still need more. Firefighters ask if you own a local business to make donations of products, gift cards, baskets, services, etc.
“Our community always comes through for us and your firefighters thank you in advance,” Foxborough Fire & Rescue said on its Facebook page. “Please send us a message if you can contribute in anyway.”
