 3. RECALL: Chicken of the Sea and Bumble Bee Tuna Products

A second major brand of tuna has recalled some of its products because of issues with the cans, which could lead to contamination.

Find out what's happening in Foxboroughwith free, real-time updates from Patch.

Tri-Union Seafoods voluntarily recalled some of its Chicken of the Sea brand 5-ounce cans of chunk white albacore tuna in water, according to the FDA.

“The seams on the lids of the cans do not meet the standard for seam quality. Cans that do not meet seam standards could result in product contamination by spoilage organisms or by pathogens, which could lead to illness if consumed,” reported the FDA.

There have not been any reported illnesses connected to this recall, said the FDA.

The product was sold in single cans between Feb. 4-27, 2013. The UPC code is 0 48000 03355 0 and the Best By date is printed on the bottom of the can and is 01/18/17.

"The health and safety of our consumers is paramount. As soon as we discovered the issue, we took immediate steps to issue this voluntary recall by alerting our customers who received the product and by asking them to remove it from store shelves," said Shue Wing Chan, president of Tri-Union Seafoods.

For more information, call the company’s 24-hour recall information line at 1-800-597-5898.

On Tuesday, Bumble Bee also recalled some of its products for problems with “seam tightness” on cans.
