1. Expect Afternoon Showers in Foxborough Monday with a Chance of Snow

Today’s weather in Foxborough, according to the National Weather Service based in Taunton, calls for isolated showers after noon. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 42. Northwest wind 11 to 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent. Monday night: A slight chance of snow showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 28. Northwest wind around 11 mph, with gusts as high as 24 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.

2. Registration Deadline for 2013 Civil Service Exam is Approaching

From the Foxborough Police Department: “Are you looking to start a career as a police officer? The 2013 Civil Service exam for City, Town, Transit and State Police will be held on April 20. The deadline to sign up is March 18. Click on the link for further information. 

3. Foxborough 8th Graders Orchestra in Concert Monday

Foxborough’s eighth grade orchestra will be in concert Monday at Foxborough High School from 5:30 to 7 p.m.

4. Patriot Place Events:

Here’s a look at today’s events at Patriot Place:

  • Bass Pro Shops Spring Fishing Classic: Join Bass Pro Shops for the annual Fishing Classic now until March 10, featuring free seminars, boat specials, rod trade in, reel trade in and more. You can also enter to win a fishing trip with Tony Stewart.
  • 1 p.m. - Silver Screen Classics at Showcase Cinema de Lux: Stop by Showcase Cinemas every Monday at 1 p.m. and enjoy a Silver Screen Classic for just $2.
  • 6:30 p.m. - Chimney Rock Wine Dinner at Davio's: Davio's Foxborough Hosts Chimney Rock Winery for a Culinary Wine Tour with special guest and Winemaker Elizabeth Vianna. Stop by Davio's Northern Italian Steakhouse at Patriot Place Monday at 6:30 p.m. and drink along with host biologist-turned-winemaker Elizabeth Vianna, as she discusses the art of winemaking and amazing aroma and flavors of the incredible Chimney Rock portfolio.

5. Water & Sewer Commissioners Meet to Discuss Funding Formulas

Foxborough’s Board of Water & Sewer Commissioners will meet Monday at 7:30 p.m. in the Water Department Office of Town Hall to discuss the following business:

  • Funding formulas for sewer and water space needs with Town Manager Kevin Paicos
  • Proposed sewer service area (i.e. district plan)
  • Letter from Skipjack’s dated Feb. 22, 2013
  • Superintendent’s report
  • Approval of payment of invoices
