1. Expect a Partly Sunny Friday in Foxborough with a High Near 40

Today’s weather in Foxborough, according to the National Weather Service based in Taunton, calls for partly sunny, with a high near 40. West wind 6 to 13 mph. Friday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 25. West wind around 8 mph.

2. South Shore Home Show at Patriot Place Features A&E’s Flipping Boston Peter Soulheris and Dave Seymour

Peter Soulheris and Dave Seymour, hosts of A&E’s Flipping Boston, will appear at the 2013 Home Show at Patriot Place to give professional home remodeling tips and advice. Join Peter and Dave for a live Q&A and walk away with advanced knowledge of the industry.

Souhleris, a former DJ and architect, uses his systematic methods and creativity to help renovate the homes that appear on the show. Seymour is an eager and innovative leader. A former New England Firefighter and Paramedic, Seymour bravely paves through home renovations making sure everything stays on time and on budget.

Stop by Patriot Place on Saturday, March 23 between 2 and 3 p.m. to see Souhleris and Seymour.

The Home Show at Patriot Place offers hundreds of exhibits and demonstrations for homeowners of all ages. Network with experts in  the industry as they demonstrate how-to projects and share skilled advice at  the stately home of the New England Patriots. The home show begins Friday, March 22 from 2-9 p.m. Admission is $9 for adults. Persons 17-and-under are free.

3. Burrell School Family Game Night is Friday

Burrell Elementary School will host its Family Game Night from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

Here’s what’s happening around Patriot Place today:

  • Artist's Studio & Gallery Spring Art Show: Visit the annual Spring Art Show featuring the works of the Foxboro Art Association with over a hundred pieces of artwork on display from over 60 different local artists.
  • Spring Fever - Creation Station: Join Patriot Place for hands-on art activities that explore a wide range of art media and tools.

5. Elizabeth DeFranti to Represent Foxborough in State National Geography Bee Competition

Foxborough Regional Charter School eighth grader Elizabeth DeFanti moved one step closer to $25,000 college scholarship by advancing to the Massachusetts State Geography Bee. It is the first time in FRCS history the charter school will be represented at the state competition. DeFanti will be representing FRCS on Friday, April 5 at Worcester Academy where she will compete with the top 100 bee winners from across the state.

The 100 state finalists will be competing for an all-expenses paid trip to Washington D.C. to represent Massachusetts in the National Geography Bee.

The National Geographic Society will provide an all-expenses-paid trip to Washington, D.C., for state champions and teacher-escorts to participate in the Bee national championship rounds May 20-22.

The first-place national winner will receive a $25,000 college scholarship, a lifetime membership in the Society, and a trip to the Galapagos Islands, courtesy of Lindblad Expeditions and National Geographic (visit www.expeditions.com).

“Jeopardy!” host Alex Trebek will moderate the national finals on May 22.  The program will air on television. Check local listings for dates and times.
