Foxboro YMCA to Open the Spier Family Outdoor Aquatics Center Thursday: On Thursday, just in time for record high temperatures, the Hockomock Area YMCA will be opening the Spier Family Outdoor Aquatics Center with a grand opening ceremony and celebration at the Invensys Foxboro Branch at 67 Mechanic St. The ceremony, which begins at 3 p.m., will include a “short speaking program and recognition of the Spier family,” according to a press release issued to Foxborough Patch.   • Free Family Summer Camp Workshops at Bass Pro Shops: Head to Bass Pro Shops for a Free S’mores Cookout, Shooting Range, Shooting Arcade, Casting Targets, Free Crafts, Free Photo and more from 1 to 5 p.m.
  • Summer Sensation 2012 - Impact Martial Arts: Designed for children 3 to 7 years old, this class focuses on developing balance, coordination, exercising, focus and listening skills, self-discipline, and respect for adults. Class begins at 11 a.m.

Concerts on the Common: The Foxboro Jaycees’ 21st annual Concerts on the Common series continues Thursday with a performance by Galley Dawgs sponsored by Bay Colony Group. The concert is held from 7 to 9 p.m. on the Common and is free.
